Dots per inch: how many pixels of the museum’s file go into each inch of paper. Our floor is 240 for sheets up to 20 inches, 180 up to 36 inches and 120 beyond, because a larger print is seen from further away. We never offer a sheet below the floor, and the number on each size is the one you receive.

All editionsThe dove comes out toward us, and the National Gallery says Piero painted it so, as though flying out of the scene. Saint John pours the water from a bowl over Christ, Whose hands are joined; three angels in coloured robes and many-coloured wings stand by the walnut tree, and only one of them shows surprise. Behind, a man bends to pull off his tunic for his turn. Piero made it for the church of San Giovanni Battista in his own Borgo Sansepolcro, and the walls in the distance are likely the town. The next one into the river is any of us.

And Jesus being baptized, forthwith came out of the water: and lo, the heavens were opened to him: and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him.
