Dots per inch: how many pixels of the museum’s file go into each inch of paper. Our floor is 240 for sheets up to 20 inches, 180 up to 36 inches and 120 beyond, because a larger print is seen from further away. We never offer a sheet below the floor, and the number on each size is the one you receive.

All editionsBoth of Christ's hands are open toward the old couple at the left, the man bare-shouldered and bent, the woman in a green shawl, and his eyes are on the young man at the right, who has turned his face down and away. The young man is dressed as the Gospel says he could afford to be, a white cloak over green silk, a turban pinned with a jewel, a hand on his hip. Heinrich Hofmann painted it in 1889, and the Riverside Church in New York, where John D. Rockefeller Jr. gave it in 1932, keeps a letter in which the painter says what he was after: that the shame of the young man's refusal should be readable in his face, and in the Saviour's an eye that searches the soul while it pities, because Mark writes that Jesus, looking on him, loved him. He went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. The hands are still open.

And Jesus, looking on him, loved him and said to him: One thing is wanting unto thee. Go, sell whatsoever thou hast and give to the poor: and thou shalt have treasure in heaven. And come, follow me.
